The People

The staff is what makes Hildr so fantastic. Every day they work hard to give you the best in both flavours and service. With a smile and a lot of personality!

We don´t care if you come in a black suit or track suit - we just love to give people memorable experiences in a cozy atmosphere with friendly faces. We are all a bunch of food and drink-nerds really, nothing more, nothing less.

The Food

At Hildr, we focus on both internationally and locally inspired dishes, tasty cocktails, and carefully selected wines and beers. Our menu is constantly changing, based on both season and the chef’s mood. We strive to create fun dishes that surprise and inspire.

We source locally

Whether foraging herbs in the mountains, digging for mollusks in the fjord, or picking up surplus rhubarb from our neighbors gardens, we strive to use the freshest local ingredients from the region.
We also preserve a lot of summer seasons goodies, using old traditional methods like fermentation, pickling, drying and smoking.
We built our own smoker btw - you can see it in our back yard.

BUILT IN 1833, The building at Skippergata 11 has been home to many interesting people and businesses. It once housed a post office, a law office and the garden has always been a site for Tromsø get-togethers. It was also the home of author Bernt Lie who wrote the novel that serves as our namesake.

In 2015 we created Hildr with the idea of being a family oriented restaurant and somewhat of a cultural center for music, art and food.
